OLMC is seeking a dedicated, efficient and personable Student Centre Administration Assistant to play a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of our busy Student Centre and contributing to a welcoming environment grounded in our school’s values.

The opportunity
Our Lady of Mercy College is seeking to appoint a full-time Administration Assistant to provide reception and administrative support in our Student Centre. This is a student-facing role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day life of the College.
The successful candidate will be calm, approachable, and professional in all interactions with students, staff, and parents/carers. They will demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage a variety of tasks efficiently. This includes responding to student needs, prioritising and escalating urgent matters, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
A high level of initiative, discretion, and excellent communication skills are essential. Above all, the successful applicant will contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment that reflects our Catholic identity and Mercy values in every aspect of their work.
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrated experience providing reception and administrative support, including managing correspondence, documentation and data entry. Previous experience working within a school setting highly regarded.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office with experience using database or student management systems is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently and professionally with students, staff, parents and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- A flexible and collegial approach to teamwork.
- First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain the qualification.
- Current Working With Children Check
